China Selections
Almost all classic routes have been covered in the following selections. To name a few, the Ethnic Guizhou leads you to minority people’s villages, the Colorful Yunnan shows different facets of a few popular places, the Footprints on Roof of the world covers Tibet, etc. In addition, there are different categories of hotels to choose from for most of the selections.
Ethnic Guizhou
Guizhou, with its stunning karst limestone scenery, had been isolated from the rest of China and world by its mountainous terrain. Has long been known as “a land without three feet of flat land”, it boasts the largest waterfall of Asia and the biggest limestone cave in China. This mysterious and scenic mountainous province in southwest China has many ethnic groups who still keep their old and primitive civilization and customs. People can find long-forgotten skills and techniques in embroidery, batik, spinning, weaving, etc.
Itinerary – 7 Days/6 Nights Guiyang (2N), Anshun (1N) & Kaili (3N)
Day01 Arrive Guiyang
Upon arrival into this capital city of Guizhou province, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. Rest of the day will be free at leisure.
Day02 Guiyang - Anshun (B/L)
Drive to Anshun this morning to visit the Huangguoshu Scenic Area. As the largest waterfall in Asia, Huangguoshu is 77.8 meters high and 101.9 meters wide. And what most special is a 134 meters long water-curtain hidden behind the waterfall. See the Tianxingqiao Scenic Spot afterwards.
Day03 Anshun - Guiyang (B/L)
This morning visit the Dragon Palace Cave which is a natural karst cave with a length of 800 meters and has the lowest radium amount and largest underground waterfall. On the way back to Guiyang, see the Yunfeng Tunpu village which has a history of 600 years and a lot of special houses with defensive functions. The ground opera played by the villagers is regarded as the living fossil of opera in China.
Day04 Guiyang - Kaili (B/L)
Before driving to Kaili, the first stop today is the old Qingyan Town which is 600 years old and has deep cultural background in the province. It’s the hometown of the first No. 1 Scholar in the province. It also has many traditional architecture styles and special memorial gates. Upon arrival in Kaili, visit the Museum of Minority Ethnic Groups to get a general understanding of all the minorities living in the prefecture.
Day05 Kaili (B/L)
We will see two villages today. The first one is Wengxiang Miao Village which is noted for its special textile technique called “Folded Embroidery” that is applied on the sleeve of costumes. Another is Shiqiao Village which is famous for its traditional paper-making.
Day06 Kaili (B/L)
Today we will explore two more villages. One is the Langde Upper Miao Village which is surrounded by a beautiful environment. It’s nicknamed as “Long Skirt” Miao which usually presents interesting dancing and singing show. Another village is Datang which is the “Short Skirt” Miao.
Day07 Kaili - Guiyang (B)
Drive back to Guiyang Airport for your onward flight.
