Shanghai has been transforming into another cosmopolitan city such as Singapore or Hong Kong. With so many headquarters and regional offices moving into this expanding city, it is a good place for business and investment. It is a good place for shopping and bargaining too.
“A big forest is likely to have all kinds of birds”, as a Chinese saying goes. So is Shanghai in terms of sightseeing trips. The city has been developing in such a speed that local inhabitants may get lost occasionally so have to force oneself to keep pace with it.
Shanghai’s development cannot be isolated from its neighbors or satellite cities and towns, many of whom, being jealous of the “Big Brother”, have been struggling with a repeated question - To be or not to be. Most of them are only a bit more than an hour’s drive from Shanghai. One should try to see some of them as early as possible before it is too late to find their rustic atmosphere and original touch.
